About Nathan
Nathan is the Director of Training Services at Active Consulting.
Highly pragmatic and engaging, his enthusiasm for his work and indeed life itself is infectious!
Driven by a great desire to improve businesses and their employees, he has a fundamental belief that most people go to work wanting to do a good job.
Optimistic and giving in nature, Nathan always aims to continually improve the life and work ‘tools’ that he works with and to share those with others.
His background
Nathan’s career began in the travel industry.
After graduating with a geology degree, he saw the travel industry as a way to fulfil his ‘Indiana Jones’ desire to see and experience the world.
After starting out as a travel consultant, Nathan quickly progressed to branch manager, than regional sales manager for United Airlines and to sales director of New Zealand’s largest independent travel wholesaler where he was instrumental in almost tripling sales over two years.
This is when Nathan started to fully appreciate the ‘human’ element of business, soon realising that people buy from people that they like and trust – an epiphany which led to his transition into human resources and learning and development where he has since spent the last 20 plus years.
Nathan moved to the UK in 1999 and with a passionate view that ‘improvements comes through people’ started working with some of the UK’s largest employers including: Orange, EON, London Electricity, CPP, Capita, Transport for London, Zurich Insurance and BAE Systems.
His training
Nathan’s consultancy and training delivery is pragmatic and highly engaging and supported by globally recognised and validated tools, interventions and techniques.
Adaptable and creative, he loves to come up with creative solutions that enable delegates to see challenges in a new light.
Nathan is accredited to deliver Insights Discovery®, SL II, Self-Leadership, and along with Cathy, Colin and Jonathan deliver the award winning Essential Leaderships Skills course, in both its face to face and virtual formats.
A global trainer, Nathan has delivered training across Europe and the Middle East as well as in New Zealand and the United States.
